Connections and chemistry are considered some of the most important elements of any team’s success. Senior Fon Mofor, a dedicated football and track athlete knows a good team when he’s on one.

“I would say this season is different from others,” Mofor said. “As a team we had a lot more chemistry than last year, especially since half way through the season last year we started to fall apart.”

Even with an  unsatisfying season last year, Mofor knew, because of his love for football, he would always have a passion for the game.

“I’ve been playing football for five years,” Mofor said. “But I really started freshman year.”

With Mofor’s many years involved in football, he has gained many supporters and inspirational people to get him through the seasons.

“Mr. Nuismer was always pushing me to be better,” Mofor said. “And Tim Boomgarden was a huge inspiration because he is always excited and has so much energy and is continuously pushing the team to be better.”

Unfortunately the people don’t always make up for the disappointing moments. Mofor experienced some regret throughout the season including the playoff game against Elkhorn North.

“Really just its ending,” Mofor said. “The hardest part about this season was probably the Elkhorn North game because it was sad and I didn’t really play my best.”

On the other hand, apart from the struggles of football, there are many more positives that overrule the negatives that make football that much more of an incredible experience.

“My favorite part about the team was going to practice and playing along with Jacob and Tim and those guys,” Mofor said.

Because chemistry and positive connections made in sports are so incredibly important for the outcome of the games, that will be the part Mofor will miss the most and wish he could take with him everywhere he goes.

“The coaches, the people, the games,” Mofor said. “Just the environment I will miss the most since it was so positive and amazing to be a part of.”
