Hoping to start off strong, the boys basketball team is gearing up for another run at the state championship. Varsity went 15-7 last season with losing in the first round of the NSAA State Championships. The girls basketball team is coming off a heartbreaking district final game last year to Scottsbluff 52-44. The girls had a 15-8 season last year and are returning many starters and look to make a strong push for the NSAA State Championships.
The swim team is coming off many strong seasons having a lot of returning medalists from all 3 schools. The swim team is a combined program from Elkhorn, Elkhorn North, and Elkhorn South and they practice at Common Ground, the aquatic center.
Furthermore, wrestling had four people qualify for State last year. Sophomore Kellen Krivohlavek, Senior Jayden Moody, Senior Eric Sutton, and Elkhorn Graduate Mason Villwok. The loss of Mason Villwok is a major loss because he was a good role model to the team, but with strong senior leadership that is showcased by Sutton and Moody, gives the Antlers hope for the season. The girls team keeps on expanding. The girls team started its first ever season in 2022 and had a very good amount of participation which continues to grow . The girls team is returning their first ever state qualifier Diesel Janovich and has many strong wrestlers like Junior Rowan Statz who came up just short last year in districts.
Finally, the bowling team coached by Kelly McMeekin and Chris Kurt has had a strong turnout for its 3rd year in existence. The team has two state returners Sophomore Samantha Michaud and Junior Lorena Mishler.
The Antlers hope to have a strong and safe 2024-2025 Winter Sports Season!
