Elkhorn High’s Craft Fair showed immense success this past weekend with many small businesses having pop-ups and stands. Numerous businesses were in attendance, the commons, mezzanines, and both gyms filled with people and shops. There were stands ranging from snacks, to decorations, to boutiques with tons of cute clothing.

“The Craft Fair is a fundraiser we do in the fall and spring where a bunch of vendors and small businesses pay for a space and are allowed to sell their items and  we earn money also through entrance fee for the craft fair,” track coach and science teacher Spencer Stednitz said.

The Craft Fair is held as a fundraiser to support both the track and cheer team.  The athletes volunteered their time to help the vendors and make sure everything ran smoothly. Each of the athletes were assigned jobs and certain hours to work, each member of the cheer team had to work a minimum of four hours with jobs such as general help, greeting, and set-up/cleanup. There will be a second Craft Fair in the spring solely held by the cheer team. The Craft Fair is not only a great way to raise funds for sports such as track and cheer but also brings together small businesses and the Elkhorn community.

“The Craft Fair is another opportunity for the community to come into the school and get to work with small businesses and see what they have to offer, everyone just helps each other out,” Stednitz said.
