It’s a sign of the times. EHS activities celebrated signing day on Feb. 5th. Eight athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college. The athletes represented football, lacrosse, girls wrestling, and dance.
Senior Peyton Turman signed to play football at Chadron State.
“I am most excited to play football and have a good time,” Turman said. “They have a good culture, I used to live down there and have family generations that played football there.”
Charlie Lamski signed to play football at Wayne St. College.
“I chose Wayne because it’s a winning culture and coaches were really inviting,” Lamski said. “I am most looking forward to getting to know the guys and winning some games.”
Beckett Mull signed to play football and lacrosse at University of Dubuque.
“I chose this school because I wanted to stay close to home and play football and lacrosse somewhere,” Mull said. “I am looking forward to starting my freshman year and just playing at the next level.”
Xander Ardley signed to play football at Midland University.
“I chose Midland because the coaching staff there is really welcoming, and all the students there just seemed very nice and welcoming to the campus, and that’s important to me,” Ardley said. “I am looking forward to seeing my new teammates, getting along with all the coaching staff, and playing football at the next level.”
Kayd Matthews signed to play football at Midland University.
“Midland was my choice because they have a winning culture. I also really liked the coaching staff alot and they value me highly. I think it was the right fit,” Matthews said. “I am looking forward to some friends going with me, living off campus and having fun with them.”
Willie Rush signed to play football at Midland University.
“I chose midland because the people and coaches are very nice, and they care about football there,” Ruah said. “Some of the players I played with this season in highschool are going there too, so that will be fun”.
Diesel Janvovich signed to be a wrestler for Southwest community college.
“I chose this school because I liked where it was and how far it is. Their program was really nice and I think I can do well there,” Janvovich said. “I am looking forward to interacting with the team and I like how they interact now and it reminds me of my team now. I think it will be a good fit for me.”
Evelyn Turner signed to dance at Iowa Western community college.
“I love Iowa western it’s super inclusive of all kinds of different people. It’s a beautiful campus close to home and I know a lot of people that are going there,”Turner said. “I don’t really know anyone on the team but I saw them compete at a competition and they were so fun to watch. They blend so well despite their diversity. It was really fun and I think it’s the place for me.”
