The Elkhorn Public Schools Board of Education released the much-anticipated boundaries defining Elkhorn North High School from Elkhorn High school. In the presentation released on the district website, it states there are no proposed changes for Elkhorn South High School. All students living south of Dodge will remain at Elkhorn South High School.
North of Dodge students will be split into three middle schools: Elkhorn Middle School, Elkhorn Grandview Middle School, and Middle School #5. From there the students will split to Elkhorn North High School and Elkhorn High School.
“2020-2021 students in grades K-4 living in Silverleaf, Five Fountains, 1010 on the Lake, and Nrohkle will be assigned to EHS. 2020-2021 students in grades 5-9 living in Silverleaf, Five Fountains, 1010 on the Lake, Elk Ridge, and Nronkle are grandfathered to attend ENHS,” according to the district website. This means the current Freshman class will be split for the 2020-2021 school year between Elkhorn North and Elkhorn High. For the first open year of Elkhorn North High School, there will be no Senior Class.
The boundary announcement has been speculated about and hotly discussed across Elkhorn since the passing of the bond last year. The changes will affect the current Sophomore and Freshman classes currently at Elkhorn High School as well as neighborhoods that will attend new middle school in 2020.
Further information is available in the presentation posted on the district website.
