Skutt Volleyball just took it to Elkhorn last Tuesday, winning all three sets by about the same margin: 25-13, 25-14, 25-12.  Skutt’s powerhouse of a volleyball team is lead by one of the top recruits in the nation, Lindsay Krause.  She played a great game and lead her team to victory.  On the Elkhorn side of things, there wasn’t one true leader.  Still, a lot of players played a great game, including but not limited to, Taylor Bunjer, Ray Jones, and Becca Vala.

Elkhorn was routinely out blocked by Skutt, and out hit.  Two things EHS prides its team on.  Some serve errors were committed that hurt Elkhorn’s team.  There were around 15 in total, compared to the 4 from Skutt.  The majority of these serve errors occurring after either a Skutt serve error or a foul.

The Antlers will continue to look forward to the future, as two sophomores Kaelyn Anderson and Haley Wolfe both had a considerable increase in playing time.  The junior varsity squad put up a good game against the Skyhawks’ JV team.  The girls won the second set 25-23, after losing the first set by the same score.  Skutt is also looking to the future to keep their championship streak of 5 years in a row.

A couple of players were out or had limited playing time for Elkhorn, as we didn’t see routine starter Abby Wolfe until the second set.  A couple of players had to get taped up to play through the game as well.

Elkhorn will be looking with optimism to play even better by the EMC tournament, as they aren’t scheduled to play Skutt again.  However, the Antlers may see them come state championship time.
