Many people idolize celebrities and many believe they can do no wrong or that they are invincible. This isn’t always the case and many celebrities find themselves in deep trouble. Over 2023, there have been many misdemeanors and crimes committed by celebrities. Well-known actors and artists dealt with their actions’ repercussions and proved they were not invincible.

For the last year, rapper Bad Bunny has been dealing with a $40 million lawsuit about copyright infringement. His now-ex-girlfriend, Carliz De La Cruz Hernández is claiming that he used her voice from a voice message in one of his songs. She also claims that she came up with the phrase  With his lawyers backing him, Bad Bunny is trying to reach a compromise of buying the recording from her. Hernández refused the 2,000 dollars but even still, the song was published. This lawsuit is still open because an agreement cannot be met between the two. This shows how a person’s digital footprint can be hijacked and manipulated in ways that weren’t intended. 

An actor made famous by dating Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson has had his fair share of community service hours. Based on charges of reckless driving for crashing into a house, Davidson was given 50 hours of community service. He also had to complete 12 months of driving school. There are a lot of bad drivers out there so it’s important to be a cautious driver.

Over this last year, singer Shakira was fighting a case against tax fraud. Shakira made a deal with the court. She admitted to not paying her taxes, which totaled $15.8 million. Once she admitted to the crime, she got a lighter punishment; she got a 3-year sentence and a $7 million fine. Putting this behind her, she can now go about her life and take care of her kids. It’s important to own up to mistakes made because there are lasting effects.

These cases were where celebrities slipped up and showcased that they are not perfect and they have demonstrated Hollywood stars can still make mistakes. This proves that there are consequences to everyone’s actions. This leaves the people in disarray figuring out the celebrities they look up to make worse decisions than expected.
