Turn Down for that Halftime Show

by Chris | February 15, 2024 9:38 am

From roller skates to R&B legends, Usher offered something for people of all walks of life. The visuals and sheer amount of people performing were insane. The costumes, circus performers, live marching band, and more left everyone speechless. The 2000s star was joined by Alicia Keys, H.E.R, will.i.am, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and others on stage in a turbulent display of talent.

The halftime show opened up on Usher in an all white suite flawlessly hitting the notes to “Caught Up.” This was an immediate crowd pleaser that got everyone in the stadium roaring. Thirteen songs followed this opener, but there were some moments more memorable than others.

Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” prelude on the piano was one of the highlights of the show. Her bedazzled red bodysuit was the perfect compliment to Usher’s clean look. She stunned the crowd with her beautiful voice and sparked some comments about her and Usher’s intimate dancing. The two did not disappoint in their performance of “My Boo” that followed. This small snippet of the show was the most iconic and recognizable.

Not long after this, Usher reappeared to everyone’s surprise in a metallic sparkly outfit riding around on roller skates. This 45 year old displayed his youthful athleticism and coordination, bringing the crowd to their feet. The energy did not cap off then though. Ludacris and Lil Jon joined in on the fun and really brought the party. Lil Jon even got in a little crowd surfing as “Turn Down For What” blasted in the back.

One thing is for certain, the vibrancy and vocals of this halftime show made it one to remember.
