It’s so Preppy in Here!

Young kids all around the nation are taking over Sephora stores with bad manners and disrespect.
It's so Preppy in Here!

Recently there has been a massive outbreak of little girls destroying local Sephora stores by having no manners and not taking care of the products.

“I think this topic is controversial but little girls should be able to do what they want and if they wanna wear makeup then let them,” freshman Delaney Brott said.

Everyone has a different viewpoint when it comes to younger kids wanting to partake in new things. Some people think these girls should be able to explore with makeup, while others think these actions are not age-appropriate.

“This could be happening because younger girls are seeing older teens making videos and using products and they just want to do it too,” Brott said.

Younger kids are easily influenced by others, especially with social media and the internet. When they start to see people they look up to doing something they think is cool, they will want to try it too.

“When I went to Sephora in a bigger city I noticed that these girls had absolutely destroyed the store,” sophomore Jada Freeland said.

This is something that has been taking place all over the world, especially in largely populated cities where the influence is stronger.

“I hope it continues because nobody is too good to be around younger people as long as they’re being respectful,” Special ED teacher Diane Schieffer said.

Even though this Sephora kids topic is just a trend, it is important to remember that kids are just exploring who they are and what they like.

“I feel like that is totally a parent’s call when it comes to a restriction or not, kids always want to feel grown up when they are young,” Schieffer said.

Although some people believe kids should hold off on makeup while they are still young, it can become a big source of happiness and comfort for some children.

“Drunk Elephant is always sold out, Laneige, Summer Fridays, and Sol De Janeiro,” Freeland said.

Most of these young kids target specific brands that are trending on social media because they are heavily influenced by the internet.

“Kids are a part of our world too and our job is to educate them and make them feel good about themselves,” Schieffer said.
