Moana 2, published by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, premiered in theaters on November 27th. Shortly after it premiered, I went to see it on November 29th. I wanted to see Moana 2 because I liked the first Moana and I grew up watching Moana so I was excited to see the second one.
Moana 2 is about the main character, Moana, going to Motufetu to break a curse set on all the islands in the ocean. She was given this task by her wayfinding ancestors..
In the movie, Moana assembles a crew to go to Motufetu; these people are Loto, a craftswoman, Moni, a fanboy, Keke, a elderly farmer, Pua, Moana’s pig, and lastly, Moana’s chicken, Heihei. They faced many obstacles on their way to Motufetu to break the curse and rejoin all the islands and cultures around the ocean.
All the actors and actresses did a great job in this movie, but I had a few favorites. Auli’i Cravalho, who portrays the voice of Moana, did a great job with her vocals in the songs and making the character more realistic. Then Dwayne Johnson, who was the voice of Maui the Demi-God, did a great job in the songs and bringing the friendship of Moana and Maui to life. Lastly, I liked a new character Kele, who was the grumpy farmer that went to Motufetu with Moana. David Fane played Kele, and at first his character was not happy about being on the ship, but by the end of the movie his perspective changed.
Overall, Moana 2 lived up to its hype, it had a great plot with new characters that brought different aspects to the movie. However, the sound track in the first Moana was more enjoyable for me. I did like the concept of everyone in the movie being older and more mature.
To conclude, Moana 2 is definitely worth watching. This movie was funny, eye-catching, and perfect for all ages.
