Over the past few days, president Donald Trump has introduced a plethora of executive orders (50 and counting). Many of which have received immense scrutiny, whilst others have been praised by some members of the public. Here four of the most groundbreaking executive orders the president has issues, what they mean, and what many of the public feel about them.

“Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government” : One of president Trump’s first executive orders, this order clarified the definition of “sex” in federal documents, prohibited federal funds promoting “gender ideology,” gender-affirming care for inmates and prevented biologically female/male inmates from being housed in the opposite sex’s prison.

“Keeping Men Out Of Women’s Sports” : One of the most recent orders the president has issued includes the “Keeping Men Out Of Women’s Sports” order. This order bans biological men from competing in women’s sports and prevents biological men from being in biological women’s locker rooms.

“Protecting The American People Against Invasions” : As president Trump’s main immigration order, this order directs the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to expand the nation’s detention infrastructure (create more detention centers, etc.) and allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) inside schools, churches, hospitals, and courthouses to make arrests.

“Protecting The Meaning And Value Of American Citizenship” : This order reestablished the meaning of the fourteenth amendment, stating, “the Fourteenth Amendment has never been interpreted to extend citizenship universally to everyone born within the United States.” However, this order has already faced much scrutiny and obstacles and been blocked from going into full effect by federal judges. The order may even see the Supreme Court, as many judges believe it is unconstitutional.

While president Trump has issued many executive orders in his new term, these surely cause a lot more changes. All in all, I hope this article provided you with some insight.
