Lakewood Bikes

A Poem by Sophomore G. Morrison

“This is a poem based on a story I’m writing called Kids on Bikes, which is about a teenager exploring paranormal activity in his town and discovering a dark secret that’s been covered up for decades,” Morrison said.

It´s a sunny day in Lakewood

And the bikes are here again

The same three all in a line

In an aimless ride through the streets

All because of one night in the woods

You burned you bled and you fell

But you never really left

You were lost right in front of their eyes

Trapped forever in the town that hated you

Now for my curiosity I must fall too

Punished for my horrible crime of living

And doomed to be just another missing kid

It´s a sunny day in Lakewood

And the bikes are here again

The same four all in a line

They never quite seem to leave
