Preparing to venture back to Hawkins, Indiana and the Upside Down, but don’t have time to re-watch the first four seasons of “Stranger Things?” Here’s a recap of each season to keep you caught up:
Season 1:
- Will Byers goes missing after a game of Dungeons And Dragon he was playing at his friends house.
- Will was riding home from his house and was taken by a strange figure called a demagorgan.
- Will was then taken to the upside down, which is another world or dimension while all his friends and family were looking for him, very worried.
- Joyce and Jonathan, Will’s family, were looking for him along with the Sheriff of Hawkins, Hopper, who started a search party.
- Meanwhile a girl with a shaved head escapes the Hawkins lab and shows up to a cafe searching for safety.
- Her name is Eleven and she acted very scared and ran away once child protective services were called, killing two men.
- It wasn’t really child protective services. It was Hawkins Lab members disguised and they shot the pub owner Benny with a silenced pistol.
- Then Will’s friends get involved, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas encounter Eleven and snuck her into Mike’s house for safety and comfort.
- During all of this Will is battling things in the upside down and still isn’t found, Joyce, Jonathan and Hopper keep encountering weird things from Will.
- Will is sending them signs from the upside down, first a phone call of him breathing and second through christmas lights.
- During all of this, high school students Nancy, Steve, Barb and two of Steve’s friends all went swimming one night. They were all having fun but then the next thing they know Barb is gone. She is taken by a demogorgon and is then tortured in the upside down where she dies.
- Jonathan was taking pictures of them and looked away for a second and Barb was gone.
- This left her best friend Nancy in a very sad worry state along with Jonathan that captured her picture moments before she went missing.
- Moving back to Eleven she tries to keep a low profile as the people in the Hawkins lab were trying to recapture her, the boys helped her blend in at school and with kids once they found out that she has special powers, she can do anything with her mind and body.
- Eleven and Hopper began to get close as Hopper wanted to keep a close eye on her and her powers.
- The boys were amazed and kept her secret, Eleven eventually helped fight off the demagorgans to get back Will.
- Will eventually returns to his home but is not the same.
- Eleven vanished in the process of getting Will back leaving Hopper worried, Hopper then finds a clue that suggests she is still alive and finds hope in getting her back.
Season 2:
- Hawkins is still experiencing the effects of the upside down a year after Will’s disappearance.
- Will is possessed by a new monster called the Mind Flayer, where he is being used as a spy for it.
- Jim Hopper gets a bunch of reports of farmer’s fields being destroyed by some sort of disease mainly targeting the pumpkins.
- Meanwhile Dustin just found a creature and took it under his wing, he named it Dart
- Eleven has left and gone to find others like her, people that have powers and can relate to her.
- This season new characters arrive Max Mayfield and Billy Hargrove, they just moved into the town of Hawkins.
- Dustin figured out that Dart is a mini demogorgon
- Lucas tells Max the whole story about what happened the year before
- Will draws a bunch of drawings of an underground tunnel path
- Jim Hopper enters the tunnels and is trapped
- Hopper gets saved by the Hawkins Lab crew
- The crew starts burning the tunnel
- Will starts to have a terrible seizure when they start burning the tunnel
- Joyce is very scared and is doing everything she can to figure out what is wrong with her son
- They go to Hawkins Lab to try and figure it out.
- They find out that Will isn’t really there it was the Mind Flayer being a spy
- The demadogs unleash and kill everyone in the lab.
- They tranquilize Will and try to escape.
- There are too many of the demadogs to get out.
- They have the doctor look at the cameras while Joyce’s boyfriend, Bob, turns the power back on.
- As they escape Bob almost makes it out.
- Joyce is forced to stand there and watch Bob get eaten alive by the demadogs.
- They escape and go to the Byer’s shed.
- They modify it so the Mind Flayer doesn’t know where he is.
- They start speaking to him and they see his hand moving in morse code.
- They figure out what the mores code spells
- He spelled, “C-L-O-S-E G-A-T-E”
- The demadogs figure out they are there at the Byer’s house because the phone rang.
- Joyce, Jonathan, and Nancy tranquilize Will and take him to Hopper’s Cabin.
- Joyce and Nancy use the heat in the cabin to try and get the Mind Flayer out of Will
- They were successful with burning the tunnels and getting the Mind Flayer out of Will, this caused the demagograms and tunnels to die instantly
- The season ends with Eleven closing the gates to the Upside down and the Hawkins lab being shut down
- The last scene of the season was everyone attending the snow ball
Season 3:
- The season starts out with the Mind Flayer returning
- Dustin returns from a camp and tells all of his friends about his new girlfriend that he talks to through a satellite.
- There is a discovery of a secret Soviet base beneath the Starcourt Mall in Hawkins
- Steve gets a job at the mall and works with Robin a nice, outgoing girl
- Dustin, Steve, and Robin worked together to uncover the Russian plot to reopen the gates of the Upside Down, that they figured out while working in the mall
- Billy was controlled by the Mind Flayer and was trying to kill people but the main target was Max, his sister
- All of them gathered in the star court mall trying to kill the Mind Flayer
- A big fight happens in the mall between the Mind Flayer and the kids
- Eleven got into Billy’s head about his mother and his abusive father, that is when Billy then protected eleven from the Mind Flayer and risked his own life
- They used fireworks to kill the Mind Flayer and it worked, but in the process Billy had died as well
- Will is officially free from being controlled but is still traumatized
Season 4:
- This season the group works together to try and defeat Vecna
- Nancy, Steve, Robin, Eddie, Dustin, Lucas and Max all went upside down to attempt to defeat Vecna
- Max was being controlled by Vecna and was getting worse everyday, they were running out of time to save her
- Hopper, Joyce and Murry were all busy getting Hopper back from Russia and trying to defeat the demogorgons that were there
- They eventually get back to the US and help fight the demogorgons and Vecna that were in Hawkins
- Will and Mike were at Will’s house with Jonathan while they were trying to repair their friendship
- Eleven was starting to save max and fight Vecna but she needed to gain her powers back, she heads to California to get them back
- She learns things about her past and goes through straining tests
- She finally gets her powers back and goes on the defeat Vecna
- The group is still in the Upside down and when Eddie dies, he was attacked by a group of bats
- They finally made it back to Hawkins and there journey trying to kill Vecna continues
- As Max was being controlled Vecna almost killed her but show fought back, she went through many challenging things with Vecna and ended up in the Hospital at the end of the season
- She was in a Coma left in very harsh condition
- The attack Vecna had on Max caused Hawkins and the Upside Down to merge causing big destruction in their town
- Steve, Nancy, and Robin were still going for Vecna, they almost had him but he vanished indicating that he is still alive and out there somewhere
