Outside of school, many students have hobbies, passions and interests that they pursue. However, one student in particular rises above all to showcase his talents.

Senior Carter Haberling, otherwise known as Drippy Cee, has been making waves in the underground rap scene. From his debut project Cee 2 Drippy, Drippy Cee has been the face of groundbreaking music at Elkhorn high school. 

Junior Easton Thompson is a long time Drippy Cee fan.

“Drippy Cee is a very spontaneous artist with a knack for silly music and I think that he is very good at what he does,” Thompson said. “My favorite song is probably ‘Batman.’ When I listen to it in the car I’m like ‘this is funny,’ but I hope in the future, he takes his music more seriously.” 

Senior Jameson Bennett, Drippy Cee’s production manager, said he had insight into the process and reasoning behind the physical production of the album Cee 2 Drippy. 

“I thought it would be interesting to try to make actual, physical CD’s of Carter’s music,” Bennett said. “There were a lot of people interested in physical copies of Carter’s work and I thought it would be good, especially since so much music is digital nowadays.” 

This effort from the team shows how willing everyone is in order to get Haberling’s work to the people who want it.

“I hope he modernizes, the CD format isn’t very accessible for a lot of people so a Spotify, Apple Music or even a Soundcloud kind of deal would really help his music career expand to a much larger audience,” senior Max Underwood said.

Bennet said the profit and press gathered from Drippy Cee’s first album has led to the beginning of work on Drippy Cee’s second album, “Cee Student.” Drippy Cee will always be there to meet the wishes of his fans, consistently putting out masterful work and delicately crafted albums.
