Friday, September 17th, Kane Brown came to town. He performed at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena, and for over $100 a ticket; it was definitely worth it.

The twenty-seven-year-old Kane Brown is a country artist; he started his career by posting cover videos of George Strait and Lee Brice on Youtube. Brown had a difficult childhood, which gave him a great deal to write about. He opens up in his songs about his childhood abuse and racial battles in a beautiful, well-written manner.

Kane chose “Restless Road,” an up incoming, three-man band, to open for him. I did not particularly enjoy this band; I did not recognize any of their songs, and their performance was dull. I arrived at the concert right at 7:00 pm when it started, and “Restless Road” was finishing up their songs. Next, Chris Lane came on and performed. Lane sang one of his number one singles, “Big, big plans,” and this song got everyone in the arena excited. Right after the song, he pointed to a man in the audience, and he proposed to his girlfriend. It was a very heartwarming moment, but by this time, we were all ready for Kane Brown.

The concert took what felt like forever to start, then Brown finally made his grand entrance. There was a long video and light show beforehand that got everyone fired up for what was to come. Then, from the top of the stage, about 50 feet in the air, Brown lowered down to the stage on a rope. I certainly did not expect this, and it made the wait worth it.

He proceeded to perform his album and put on a great show. This was definitely a concert that you would enjoy best if you knew the songs. If you were at a pop concert, you would be plenty entertained by backup dancers, lights, and special effects, but at Kane Brown’s concert, it was mostly just him and his band doing what they do best, which I enjoyed. Brown took moments to pause singing and tell some stories about his rough childhood. He told heartwarming stories about the adversity he has overcome and how dreams come true. He then proceeded to sing the songs he wrote about these instances. As a huge fan of his, I loved hearing the stories behind the songs.

Overall, I give this concert four stars out of five because the pre-show took too long and his performance got repetitive. I still had a great time, and Kane Brown put on a great show. As a big country music and Kane Brown fan, in my opinion, Brown made the $125 concert absolutely worth it.
