Junior Ava Kumagai and senior Cassy Limley were the two winners of the Diversity Club raffle. The Diversity Club hosted a raffle for EHS students, where the prize was two $100 gift cards to Village Pointe. Proceeds from the raffle go to support the KIM Foundation.

Last week, Elkhorn High School’s Diversity Club hosted a raffle for a chance to win two $100 gift cards to Village Pointe. Each raffle ticket was $1, and the money raised went to the KIM foundation.

The craze for the raffle drew some lucky winners, including junior Ava Kumagai.

“I entered the raffle because I wanted to support the KIM foundation,” Kumagai said.

Although the prize excited many, the cause was the real driving force of the raffle.

“The KIM foundation helps with mental health and suicide prevention,” Diversity Club sponsor Jen Hadley said.

Every month, Diversity Club has a unique topic. October’s topic was mental health.

“We try to give a place for anybody to hang out. We also try to inform our members on different topics every month,” Hadley said.

Members of the Diversity Club collected money from each TA. Diversity Club ended up raising $514 for the KIM foundation.

Sophomore Alaina Havran, a member of the Diversity Club, remarks on her enjoyment of the extracurricular.

“I was one of the members that walked around TAs to collect money and give tickets,” Havran said. “My favorite thing about Diversity Club is learning about different people and the way the world looks out for them.”

Diversity Club’s work and fun all go for a good cause. This club includes everyone, and people who are willing to join can still sign up.
